About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and technically sharp Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager to lead our client’s Cybersecurity Operations Team. The Security Operations Team consists of a multi-tier analyst team, security engineering team, and insider risk team. This is a hands-on, leadership role for someone who is passionately interested in continually improving the Security Operations Team’s capabilities in a client organization that strongly buys into the importance of security and consistently delivering on security excellence.

Role Description:

In this role, you will own the success of the Security Operations Team. In addition to setting and successfully delivering upon the Security Operations Team’s strategy, you are knowledgeable about multi-tier analytical and security engineering approaches. The knowledge is deep enough to where you can successfully set and deliver upon improvement strategies involving a mixture of improving staff expertise in addition to improving how the current security tool portfolio is deployed and utilized.

Required Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelors of Science in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Business from a U.S. accredited college, university, or institution.
• Active Project Management Professional or equivalent certification
• 8+ years of relevant experience, including managing a business-hours SOC for an organization of at least 2,000 users.
• Hands-on experience in performing Data Collection, Detection, Triage and Investigation, as well as Incident Response.
• Experience creating and implementing processes for incident detection, response, and escalation.
• Experience assessing incident reports, coordinating response efforts, and ensuring incidents are handled effectively.
• Understands security engineering best practices and has experience consisting of meaningful security engineering accomplishments.
• Experience using a high level of analytical skill to solve technical, administrative, and management problems.
• Has excellent oral, writing, and team skills.

Clearance and Location Requirements:

• Must be onsite at least 4 days a week at the client location in Washington, DC.

• Able to be cleared for a Public Trust clearance.
