We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to design, implement, secure, and maintain complex network infrastructures. This role requires deep technical expertise in network engineering, a strong background in security tools and protocols, and the ability to lead and mentor other engineers. The ideal candidate will excel at analyzing network traffic, identifying and mitigating potential threats, and ensuring the highest levels of network performance, integrity, and confidentiality.
Role Description:
• Design, configure, and maintain secure network architectures, protocols, and systems.
• Implement and manage network security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic to detect potential threats, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Administer Microsoft Security Tools (e.g., Sentinel) in Azure and non-Azure environments.
• Manage and optimize Cisco Secure Web Appliance deployments.
• Lead, mentor, and train junior network engineers in technical best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and efficient network operations.
• Stay up-to-date on emerging threats, technologies, and best practices in network engineering and cybersecurity.
Required Qualifications & Education:
• BS/BA Degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology from a U.S. accredited college, university, or institution.
• 5+ years of experience working in network engineering, with a significant portion in a security context.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CISSP, CEH, Security +, Network +, or equivalent Certification(s).
• Experience with Microsoft Security Tools (e.g. Sentinel) that is either part of or independent of the Microsoft Azure offering.
• Experience with Cisco Secure Web Appliance
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining network security protocols and systems, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of network data.
• Experience providing expert technical guidance and leadership to a SOC team on network-related issues.
• Experience analyzing network traffic and identify potential threats, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to protect the network from cyberattacks.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and training junior network engineers.
• Has excellent oral, writing, and team skills.
• Additional experience and critical knowledge preferred with the following tools: Qualys, Crowdstrike, Cloudflare, CyberArk, Solarwinds
Clearance and Location Requirements:
• Able to be cleared for a Public Trust clearance.
• This position requires to be onsite 3 days per week in Washington, DC.
