Check Point Engineer

Role Description:
•Manage Firewalls including; upgrades, policy administration, and validation.
•Knowledge of multiple Firewall types: Check Point and Palo Alto
•Review and implement changes consistent with existing Firewall policies.
•Review and update documentation to ensure consistency with current procedures.
•Design, deploy, and maintain an enterprise network infrastructure.
•Provide operational support for data center networking.
•Manage and tune other hardware and software such as IDS/IPS, URL Filtering, Application Control, Antivirus, Advanced Malware detection).
•Ability to work outside of normal business hours to support outage resolution, planned maintenance, or to implement an upgrade.

Required Qualifications & Education:
•Five (5) plus years’ experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
•Four (4) plus years’ of experience configuring and administering carrier class firewalls with Check Point and Palo Alto.
•In-depth knowledge of security operations, including firewall rules and security policies.
•Strong networking ability and knowledge of firewall platforms to assist in rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outages.
•Packet Capture analysis skills, troubleshooting traffic and latency issues on all layers (OSI).
•Customer Service and consistency updating leads and management on assigned tasks.
•Ability to work weekends and evening hours if necessary
•Ability to work independently with provided requirements
•Possess a self-starter personality to acquire a path forward based on research and requirements gathering
•Demonstrates a will to go above and beyond and not settle for the bare minimum to achieve assigned tasks and projects

Clearance and Location Requirements:
•Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information.
